Corretta blends elements of metal, prog, post hardcore, and experimental rock to create something new and ever-changing. Their latest album 'A New Age of Decay' (released 6/20/26) is the LA-based band's heaviest effort yet, with cathartic and vulnerable songs that feature more screamed vocals, nastier guitar tones, and more time signature tomfoolery than previous releases. Long songs happen, guitar solos happen, and a lot of raw aggression happens. What you get is a mix of flavors reminiscent of bands like TOOL, Every Time I Die, Dream Theater, and Glassjaw, with a taste all its own.
Corretta's live performances focus on technicality, explosive energy, and catharsis. The entire set is connected by interludes that rarely allow silence and form a singular, curated listening experience. Guitarists Brig Urias and Jordan Seah create bass lines on their own by splitting guitar signals into bass chains and trading guitar and bass parts, often mid-song. Vocalist Jon Gibson screams, sings, and triggers synth sounds while sweating aggressively, and drummer Noah Dearborn bridges the gap between refined and extreme playing.
